The scholarships must be used for payment of tuition or the cost of applied lessons (such as music or voice lessons), and/or the purchase of music materials or musical instruments.

Founder, President Patrice Bivins

Patrice BivinsWith a vision to start a Music Scholarship Program for underserved students in the Alabama region who love music, but face financial challenges, upon returning to her native Huntsville, Patrice, always had a passion for music and was inspired to make this dream a reality. Although, she pursued a B.S. Degree in Physical Education, as a student herself she was introduced to the piano, took lessons as a young student and played for over 5 years in various recitals and church. She also played Clarinet in her school band. During her musical career in California, she managed recording artist "Maxee" who later joined R&B singing group, Brownstone, a first female group to sign with MJJ/Sony Records in California. To further her music education, Patrice enrolled in the UCLA Extension Entertainment Studies and Performing Arts Program with courses taught and mentored by music industry professionals, (one of whom is now a judge on American Idol, Randy Jackson.) Patrice gained professional knowledge of musicianship for more than 15 years through music education and hands on experience. As a talent coordinator, she has produced several performing arts events, including talent shows, musical presentations, conference events workshops and educational speakers for young musical artists.
