In 2018, students from (AAA) Academy of Academics and Arts had an unbelievable opportunity to experience a hands on workshop conducted by Nellie Mack, a renowned Blues bassist and a former cellist herself musician known as Mississippi's finest female bass player. The 2018 Alabama Women in Jazz Fetival was presented with co-sponsors the UAH Department of Music and UAH Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. (Pictured also) Ms. Peck, Strings instructor and  Mark Tostenson, who is a parent and owner of the Fret Shop joined the students on stage.
